As I sit here preparing a message on 2 Corinthians 5:1-8 entitled “The Eternal View” part 2 (part 1 was 2 Cor. 4:16-18; Part 2 is to be 2 Cor. 5:9-13), I’ve been meditating upon the need for Christians to have an eternal view now. Why is it that so many Christians fail to see the need to be in church? Why is church attendance and fellowship treated as if they are optional by many Christians? How many Christians regularly thank Jesus Christ for saving them?
I am sure most Christians know this, but Jesus Christ made it clear that the Christian life is a stewardship where we will be judged based upon our faithfulness (Matt. 25:14-30, Parable of the Talents; 1 Cor. 4:2; etc.). If you’re reading this and you’re not a faithful, active member of a Bible believing, Christ-honoring church, today is the day to get that right!
